Role of Kupffer cells in tolerance induction after liver transplantation

چکیده
Currently, liver transplantation has reached a level of maturity where it is considered an effective treatment for end-stage disease and can significantly prolong the survival time patients. However, acute chronic rejection remain major obstacles to its efficacy. Although long-term use immunosuppressants prevent rejection, associated with serious side effects significant economic burden Therefore, investigation induced immune tolerance holds crucial theoretical significance socio-economic value. In fact, establishment in intricately linked unique innate system liver. Kupffer cells, as component this system, play pivotal role maintaining delicate balance between inflammatory response following transplantation. The important roles different functions such phagocytosis, cell polarization, antigen presentation membrane proteins, after comprehensively summarized paper. Role of Liver Biopsy After Liver Transplantation
Assessment of liver histology following orthotopic liver transplantation is an essential component of management in the transplant recipient. Most programs recommend liver biopsies when there are changes in the patient’s status or biochemical tests. The use of protocol allograft biopsies, that is in asymptomatic recipients with normal or near-normal liver tests, is controversial. Considerations...
متن کاملKupffer cells: increasingly significant role in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is considered to be a manifestation of liver metabolic damage and is related to insulin resistance and genetic susceptibility. Inflammation mediated by Kupffer cells (KCs) is of critical importance to the development of NAFLD. The primary role of KCs in NAFLD is considered to be the perturbation of the C-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) and nuclear factor-ka...
متن کاملTolerance Induction in Liver
Liver is an exclusive anatomical and immunological organ that displays a considerable tolerance effect. Liver allograft acceptance is shown to occur spontaneously within different species. Although in human transplant patients tolerance is rarely seen, the severity level and cellular mechanisms of transplant rejection vary. Non-paranchymal liver cells, including Kupffer cells, liver sinusoidal ...

متن کاملRole of Dendritic Cells in the Induction of Lymphocyte Tolerance
The ability of dendritic cells (DCs) to trigger tolerance or immunity is dictated by the context in which an antigen is encountered. A large body of evidence indicates that antigen presentation by steady-state DCs induces peripheral tolerance through mechanisms such as the secretion of soluble factors, the clonal deletion of autoreactive T cells, and feedback control of regulatory T cells. More...
